From what I've seen on the forum, this has been an issue dating back several years. I just got 12 recessed wafer lights and installed the first 4 lights. The lights came with a little hub. I am using the Smartlife app. I got the hub and 4 lights adopted in the app and the lights work fine. In HA, the lights were auto discovered in the Tuya integration. Now, when I try and control the lights, I can only turn them on and off in HA. I cant control the brightness, color temp or color. The brightness slider and color temp slider are there but nothing happens. The color selector is not there. I've tried everything I've found in all the threads and nothing seems to work. Since the threads are so old, they are hard to figure out if a solution was ever truly figured out. So, does anyone have a solution for the problem? Will uninstalling and re-installing the integration help? FYI- I have other Tuya lights that work fine in HA.
Many of the Tuya devices don't expose all the functionality in HA. It is Tuya being Tuya.
If the devices are zigbee try connecting directly to a zigbee hub on HA. Nowadays I buy zigbee 3 compatible devices (door switches, presence sensors etc) and connect directly to HA, rather than Smart Things.
A word of caution on lights, or anything mains-powered. Make sure you buy ones that are certified for connection in your jurisdiction. Many are not and could compromise your insurance in the event of a fire. The Ali stuff is notorious for not meeting the relevant safety standards.

This is the first Tuya product that doesn't work for me. I'm trying to figure out how quirks work for Tuya devices but there is little information on how to use and create them.
Are they wifi or zigbee? Any part number for the lights or that little hub?
If they are zigbee I would simply connect them to a zigbee dongle and zigbee2mqtt instead of their hub and app.
If they are wifi, they probably use a W2BL board with a Beken7231 chip and can be flashed with ESPHome (libretiny), I have 4 tuya wifi recessed light and flashed esphome on it, working 100x better now
