I started my journey with some Tuya devices (Quinetic kinetic switches that requires a hub that is Tuya enabled with wifi, and some other devices like power and light switches). I discovered Tuya Local and thought I move these into HA for local control. I managed to add the Tuya Hub.
Now I started trying to add my wifi devices. Part of Tuya Local requires the ip address (I have the other details). Checking my router DHCP leases, I can’t see any of the switches, power plugs anywhere. I am completely stumped how these Tuya devices actually work as they are used in some simple automations (light switch on motion for example) and I can shout at Alexa to turn on power switches. I checked the Smart Life add on my phone and can see the address it has shows all the devices having x.y.z.* where the x.y.z is the public facing ip of my internet connection.
Anyone know how Tuya works? Bit concerning now that they are not on the network (I am guessing they magically - after initial setup on the home wifi, migrated to its own private network direct with the hub?).
