Nevermind… still not working properly. I could connect my lights again after my last post (so it was not just cached from my browser), but suddenly they stopped working and when I went back, it was again ‘initializing’ and my dashboard showes up like this
Iam new to this website so I did not know yet I can only post 3 reply’s in same topic. Sorry for that.
What I have found out is that there is somehow a big latency on the line. Once its connected again like I described above, and I click some of the tiles on my dashboard, nothing happens… after a while (couple of minutes) then suddenly it apears to happen (turn on light, turn off power heater)…
– edit 2:
I even tried to reinstall Home Assistent on another VM, back loaden an backup from 2 months ago and tried it again.
Same issue. So I guess something is wrong with the connection between HA and Tuya itself somehow? Anyway… #dev@DevSK@someone hehehe…
– edit 3: I tried to install Homey on another VM just a couple of minutes ago… and then I tried to connect to Tuya… Same issues… So its not only HA based… The problem is at Tuya somehow…
SImilar issue here since this morning. I tried creating another account with Tuya Smart life as suggested my Tuya developer and that works with QR code scan but for some reason the existing Tuya app I have doesnt. Use SmartLife App-Tuya Developer Platform-Tuya Developer
It will be a huge pain to set it all up again tbh
Same problem here.
“please use the designated app to scan the code to log in” after scannin QRCode with official Tuya Smart App up to date!
I tried to create another account with different email and try new association in HA, same issue.
I had no problem with association weeks ago!!!
Me too. And I’ve tried all the scenarios. SmartLife activated correctly, but it’s not easy to transfer all devices from Tuya Smart to Smart Life. It seems to be a global problem, we have to wait for a solution.
Tuya recently updated their backend and made it more “strict,” which has caused some issues with the Home Assistant integration.
However, most Tuya IoT devices work just as well with the Smart Life app. I tested it myself, and there are no issues there.
To fix the problem, go to Home Assistant, open the Tuya integration, and click Add Hub. When prompted to scan the QR code, use the Smart Life app instead of the Tuya app. It connects without any problems.
But you have to transfer all your devices from Tuya Smart to SmartLife. If you have a lot of devices, you will need a lot of time to do this. Unless you know some shortcuts?.
Same! Just made a FEEDBACK request in their app. SMARTLIFE IS WORKING normally. TUYA is only affected! Problem for me. I have two homes (One has Smarthome the other Tuya.) So still a problem for me!
Solution is simple: use the Smart Life App! What I did today: I resetted my two WiFi/BLE Thermo/Hygrometers (Chatthen Wlan Thermometer), startet the Smart Life App (iOS), added the two thermometers as new devices (unplug battery for a second) - all went smooth. Then I got back to the Tuya-HA integration (!) and started the QR-process with the Smart Life App (!) - all live again.
So, don’t get confused: get the Smart Life App on your mobile, integrate the devices in it (I ignored the Tuya App completely, no deleting of the two thermometers in it), start Tuya-HA process, scan the code with the Smart Life App on your mobile and everything should work again. The devices popped up again with the same name and entities as they had before.
Let me know if it worked for you - and sorry for my poor english, I am German…
Is anyone activily looking into this? The suggestion of just using the smart life app is not a solution and as mentioned above the exact same thing happend the other way around 2 years ago.
