Tuya TS0044 sudden death

It’s been working fine for 2 years. Not even a battery replacement.

It stopped responding, last times showing flashing lights when pressed. Now nothing. So I guessed it was time to replace the battery finally.

I have now tried 3 different batteries. The original read 2.7V so it could indeed be depleted. But the new one reads 3.3V, it should work.

It doesn’t respond to anything. No LED lights up on press, and obv there’s no connection to Z2MQTT.

Did it just die? Seems weird. Anyone had this happen?

Does it respond to 10 second depress on button 1 to re-pair?

Could also be that the new battery doesnt get firm contact to the + and - poles within its battery compartment. Happens sometimes when changing batteries. Remove the new battery and carefully bend the poles towards the battery pole sides and try again.

It ended up being the battery. I tried 4 I thought were new, but measure they had weird voltages. I’ve fully recharged one and tried, and it just worked fine.
