Two areas with the same name on different floors

Hi,

I’ve created all the floors for our home. When creating the areas (rooms) I stuck with the point that we’ve got 2 restrooms. One in the ground floor and one in the 1st floor. Both of them I would like to name them WC but that’s not possible. Even the ID is diffrent between the both. Naming them WC 1st and WC ground is strange… Is there a workaround for that? Most things in hass are done by id’s as such I thought that using the same name for two areas would be possible.

Thanks
Marc

Name by usage is some part? Guest bath and main bath

I name them by users. Kids bath and just bath for parents.

Sadly there’s no cascading of areas that way, so you will have to use different names. Here, everything’s doubles as our house’s upper floor is a duplicate of the lower (but with no separation into multiple flats), so I have “WC EG” & “WC OG”, “Kitchen EG” and "Kitchen “OG”, …

I think cascading of areas (building->floor->room->section) has been requested for ages, but no progress has been made to implement it. Maybe all the devs live in those American single-family houses?

Thanks for the reply… I had done this before WC-OG and WC-EG. But the ui looks like they are cascaded. But as you mentioned, it’s not… Okay, then I’ve got to live with it since in america houses with more than one floor will be built.

Thanks for your help
