Hello. I have a problem with one integration, but it is not supported by HA, it is a HACS integration. I am looking for someone with whom I could share this problem and who would help me with my question: "Can a typo error (conversion of letters, missing letter, or extra letter) cause an error in the code and the integration will stop working when upgrading core HA? Is it possible to mark a “typo” as a code error? Thank you for any answer.
Which integration?
You can open an issue with the developer on github.
Sorry for asking
What are you sorry about?
I’m trying to help you, so which integration is it?
The question is not about a specific integration. The question is in my post. But if it is in the wrong place, feel free to delete it. I would rather not ask anymore.
Yes a 3rd party integration can cause home assistant to stop working after an update if the issue is severe enough. The Alex Media Player integration did this a few times recently.
EDIT: also I see many people have already tried to help you with this issue. Home Assistant - Update there really was no need for another topic. The answer is the same.
Not a super-expert here.
The integration can be affected by HA core upgrade. If as an example the typo you’re referring was ignored with a certain HA core version but is then detected and raised after the upgrade the integration can stop working.
Integratinos (even HACS ones) could be re-deployed and re-configured so the error should/can be fixed.
Please continue the discussion in the topic linked above.
