Hi Community,
i have a bit trouble with the Ubiquiti Network integration. if i add it it connected as expected it starts with around 1k enterties. after one ore two days i have more than 17k enterties and that will break down my system. i only need like 100 enterties to device track with this integration. how can i archiv this? can i do it manual via config file? thanks in advanced. kind regards matze
How big is your network that it generates this amount of entities? Are you running an open WiFi network?
To your question: if you already have all information that you require, you can edit the following setting in the Unifi Integration:
To clean up all the created entities you do not need, check out https://spook.boo/
So when I change both toggles no new enterties will appear and everything continues working?
And yes it’s a open Wi-Fi network called Freifunk
Yes it should
When you change the first toggle: the integration will stop creating new entities
When you change the second toggle: the integration will stop updating the entities that already exist.
With this setting it creates more and more devices an ha becomes unresponsive. Over night I have more than 1k devices added. They are disabled but if you go to device enterties it will load very very long.
Yes, I apologize, that is the expected behavior.
The integration will continue to discover new devices but the new ones will be disabled by default.
You need to figure out why these devices are being added.
Do you recognize these devices? Can you provide any information about them?
This are clients witch are coming from the free wifi. Network. It is a project called Freifunk. There are many Mac addresses inside this network and they get catched by the integration.
Based on this Freifunk - Wikipedia I’m not sure I would integrate this with HA.
Agree with Fleskefjes
To follow-up: what is your ultimate goal?
If you want to monitor the usage of the environment, there are monitoring solutions like checkmk.com that will probably do what you want (# of devices, bandwidth, state of interfaces, …)
I will integrate my normal unifi for device tracking. But the Freifunk uses one of the vlans in my unifi environment. That’s why I see als the Mac addresses from Freifunk…
And that is my problem
