Unable to access file after Samba share update(solved)

Hi,
after the last Samba share Hass.io update and the remove of guest access I can’t read files from my home-assistant on my linux box. files belong to root and so user don’t have access. don’t know if it’s manageable in add-on or it’s need config in linux box side ? Someone can help me ?

Both. Set up samba addon with a login/password and use that on your samba client. On the linux box, do a ‘sudo chmod 777’ to the directories that already exist you want r/w access to.

I set up a login/password on hass add-on and i can connect from my linux box, but has files belong to root i can’t edit them. sudo chmod 777 his not an option for security reasons.

Are you trying to use your hostname or IP?

When did you install hass.io? Was it prior to version 0.73? If so, you cannot access your hassio through hostname, you can only access it through your IP address.

\\xx.xx.xx.xx

will get ya there. Obviously replace the xx.xx.xx.xx with your IP.

finally solved by uninstalling and reinstalling Samba share addon and restarting my home assistant.
