Hi All,
i am unable to add any device to tuya-local. I have a bunch of smart 2 nodes that i am trying to configure in tuya-local. i follow the below steps:
- use the ‘SmartLife cloud-assisted device setup’ , scan the QR code, login.
- select the device from the list.
- switch off wifi and data from my phone so that the connection to the app is broken
- It auto populates all the fields of IP, device ID , local key
However, as soon as a click submit, it gives me an error “Unable to connect to your device with those details. It could be an intermittent issue, or they may be incorrect.”
Now, i know that the details entered are correct, i double-checked.
Please help.
Setup:
Running home assistant as a docker container on Rpi.
EDIT: I fixed it. i was being n00b
noticed that i can ping the device from the router, but not from the pi. running an arp scan did not show up the devices. it was due to the pi and the devices running on different protocols.
to fix it, you have to manually add an arp entry for the mac and local ip of that device. Ones that is done, you will be able to ping the device from the pi and add the device using tuya-local
