Unable to add IKEA remote and smart plug

Hi, I’m new to Home Assistant, and still struggling a bit to to learn where to find the right information and relevant logs, so bear with me.

I’m having difficulties adding IKEA matter devices. Specifically the remote control, Bilresa, and the smart plug, Grillplats. When I try to commission them using my mobile phone it shows: 1. Connecting to device, 2. generating matter credentials, 3. checking connectivity with thread network. But if fails on 4. Adding to home assistant .

I managed to successfully add 6 Kajplats smart plugs, which shows that it is possible to add matter devices to the system.

I have a Home Assistant green with default settings and ZBT-2 for matter (I also have zbt-1 being used for ZigBee flawlessly).

Any ideas? Where should I look?

I found restarting the thread router helped when my Ikea devices would not connect.

Hello!

Ikea matter devices have a thread problem as mentioned here https://youtu.be/SfVeXIwWPQE?t=355 you could try to remove the battery and move it back in and restart the thread router.

It’s a firmware bug from Ikea’s side.
