Restart HA first, then applied latest update 2026.2.2 maybe? Now no webpage, mobile app won’t connect. Ping successful. not https. Hardware: Raspberry Pi 4, 4gb, USB SSD. SSH no response. Trying to find my MicroHDMI cable so i can see whats on the screen…
Nevermind, after 6 reboots it has returned from the dead. v strange.
Like no other software, I’m hesitant to update HA each time I see an update available. None others break successful configurations as often. I understand that it’s a complex web of code and integration, but “the update broke my HA” seems like a comment too often posted.
Updates take time to download, unpack and install. While this is happening, some things may be turned off as they are being updated. Sometimes a reboot may unstick something that has hanged up, but often it is just forcing the update process to start again. As the updates come in a global fashion, those people that install early give the download servers a bit of load, where if you wait a day or so, the load is far lighter and then chances of a fast download and install are vastly increased.
From experience, it pays to wait a little while and check the forums and GitHub for any reports of major issues before blindly hitting the update button. Start your update and go do something else and don’t check too often, which may also delay the update process.
Repeatedly kicking your system in the stomach while it is down does not sound like an efficient method of problem resolution. Just sayin…
