Unable to connect to Home assistant. Failure to perform SSL handshake

Just today, I have not been able to connect to my home assistant yellow using the android mobile app on my pixel 9 pro XL (was working previously). I am still able to connect to HA via my pixel tablet without problems. The error I am facing is attached…failure to perform SSL handshake. any advice on how to fix will be appreciated. Thanks again for this help.

P.S. for some reason I am not seeing my original post so am reposting this question. I hope I haven’t done a second post on the same topic.

Check time and time zone on the bugged device

The pixel is set to auto time zone and the time is correct? Thing is this same setup has worked for a while without problems (did get the pixel 9 1 month ago)

Do you actually have SSL enabled and if so, how is it set up?

Sorry Wally, I should not have SSL setup…I used to log into home assistant with http not https…in fact I’ve been logging in fine for quite a long time. This error only started today…it affects both my pixel 9 pro as well as my older pixel 7pro. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and it still will not work…though the error is vague…not SSL…just cannot log in

The new error since reinstalling home assistant is attached

I do have ubiquity u7pros and a udmse for my home networking…it is possible that an auto update has messed with this connection. I will investigate and revert to previous version to see if it helps

Is it the browser you log in with, then nearly all browsers today will add https:// in front of the address, where it should be http:// instead.

If it is the companion app, then your server address is wrong and that can both be set up in the app and on the HA server (System → Settings → Network).
The companion app should pop up with an options to change the settings when it fails to connect.

The thing is i am using the companion app and the server address is correct, in fact I can access it via my PC using the same server address but cannot via the companion app.

Ok I found the issue, I updated my HA from 14.2 to 15.0 and it now works. It was working with previous version so I don’t get why this update was necessary (I normally do my HA updates once per week more or less).

Was only able to perform the update via my PC as couldn’t log in via my HA companion app

Thanks again Wally for the feedback as was trying to figure out what’s going on
