Unable to Connect to ZWA-2 on Windows with Virtual Box HAOS

I am starting my HA journey today.

Setup so far:

  • Surface Pro 3 - Windows 10
  • On a docking Station for charging and extra USB ports.
  • Virtual Box
  • HAOS
  • ZWA-2

Initial setup was successful with a few household deviced detected. The ZWA-2 was not detected.

Trying to get the zwa-2 recognized in HA by following the documentation.
After installing Z-Wave JS…I headed over to devices…then clicked:

  1. Add integration
  2. Z-wave
  3. Recommended Settings

Then I get this:

I have tried all four USB device paths, and they all get stuck on this configuring add-on screen:

About 5 mins later I get:

Do I need to configure VirtualBox to have access to USB ports, or something else?

Yes you do.

It looks like it was already enabled. But I added a filter for the ZWA-2, but did not change anything. I have the ZWA-2 plugged into USB-2 port, the light is on so I know there is power, and I know it’s detected in the virtual box because I was able to filter for it.

Any suggestions?

I Found it. I had to manually select the USB device from the Devices Tab in the home assistant window in Virtual Box.
