Unable to Pair Devices

Assembled a Home Assistant (HA) Trial last Feb. HA (Cove 2025.2.5) running in Docker (27.5.1)/Ubuntu (24.04). Also loaded; Portainer and Zigbee2mqtt (Z2M; 2.1.1). First attempt at pairing (a Third Reality Smart Plug) was reasonably successful. Did not get back to it until now, and something is amiss.
Original Smart Plug pairing is still visible and functioning. However, now when I attempt to pair a second Smart Plug (Settings > Devices & Services > Add Integration) apparently there is a problem initiating my Sonoff dongle,
HA requests ‘Select Brand’ = Third Reality,
HA requests ‘Device Type’ = Zigbee Device,
HA responds, “Zigbee is not setup”. I have hardware, so I select ‘proceed’.
HA requests ‘Select a Serial Port’ = dev/ttyUSB0-Sonoff Zigbee 3.0…
HA requests ‘Select a Radio Type’ = Z-stack.
Data flow control = Hardware. Submit.
The processing wheel spins seemingly endlessly. Then finally declares Failure to connect. I don’t know what is amiss. Can anyone provide some insight?

You are trying to pair through ZHA, but Zigbee2MQTT is using your dongle. Open the Zigbee2MQTT frontend, enable pairing, and then try to pair again.
