Unable to reduce width of some cards dashboard

This is my first foray into editing dashboards and I’ve run into a small issue. I’m unable to reduce the width of two of my area cards (living room and the second shown bedroom) from the default of 12 down to 6. Both areas have a smart light bulb and I assume this is the issue. I’ve managed to stop the light from appearing on the living room card by turning the bulb’s visibility off but I still can’t reduce the width of its card.

I don’t want to be able to control the bulbs directly, they’ll only be controlled by automations for notifying of events.

Can someone assist?

If you delete the Area Controls feature from the card, you should be able to reduce the width. Sounds like you don’t want that anyway?
