Unable to update units - issue solved by RESTART of hardware

Hi you ESPHome-specialists,

running several 8266-integrations using ESPHome, I tried to change code today.
But I get the message shown below. I cannot change programs of my integratet 8266s
any longer.

Message is quite clear:

> INFO Reading configuration /config/esphome/gaszaehler.yaml…
> INFO Generating C++ source…
> INFO Compiling app…
> Processing gaszaehler (board: esp01_1m; framework: arduino; platform: platformio/espressif8266 @ 3.2.0)
> --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
> Platform Manager: Installing platformio/espressif8266 @ 3.2.0
> Error: Please upgrade to the PlatformIO Core 6

But my homelassistant is up to date … all updates are done and there are no updates in the queue.
Any ideas?

Thanks for any hints,
Mike

You are using the wrong repository. It changed a while back.

Thanks for your hint.

I followed your link and got the installation of the lastest version 2022.10.0.
Great - so far!

But this add-on does not start. As I saw on DISCORD, a lot of users have
exactly the same problem. Restart or complete reboot do not help. It’s a bug.

“Thanks” anyway.

Did you uninstall the old add-on? If it’s still installed did you stop it?

Here is, what I tried:

  • Deinstall old ESPHome BEFORE installing the new one
  • Clear browser cache
  • Install ESPHome 2022.10.0.
  • does not work.
  • deinstall this one and:
. install beta-version which does not work, too.
  • deinstall beta again.
  • install 2022.10.0. again.

No effect.

All I can suggest is to post the logs and see if one of the gurus can spot something.

Thanks for your hint. That’s what I did.
No result, until today.

As Home Assistant is not a professional solution, but a playground for nerds, I do not expect useful response.

At last the solution for this issue was a reboot of rasperry with ha.

A restart of home assistant did NOT solve the problem. It was necessary, to completely reboot the system.
