Unavailable Remote

Hello All,

First: all the best wishes for the coming year :christmas_tree:.

I’ve been using HA for some years now. Always without troubles, atleast big.

Now since 2 days my remote isn’t working anymore. It has been solid for years.

The app and also the webpage are giving me a random mix of errors.

  • 505 Internal Server Error
  • unable to fetch auth providers home assistant auth callback

The last error is when i login. So it’s working half. After loging in i get the 505.

I’m using HA on a Proxmox VM with NGinX setup for remote access.

We need more info than that to help you.

What do you need?

OK, I’ll bite.
Do you need to change the batteries in the remote?

Haha ;).

For real.
I’m using NginX to forward my remote ip to an internal ip.
It al had been working rock solid for years. Al of a sudden it doesn’t anymore. This is since a day or two.
I quess since updating to version .5 of month 12.

I am able to see the login oage. When i enter my credentials i get one of the above messages.

Bit hard to do some research now cause i’m not able to access the machine directly at the moment.

As we speak; the mesage changed to:

Unable to connect to Home Assistant.

Retrying in 54 seconds…

Has the IP changed perhaps?

I have static ip. But if that would be the case; the loading page shouldn’t show up at all.

Well, you did also state that this is the current error. Can you ping the ip?

Yes.

But the other strange thing is that i’m still getting push messages.
Gor example; i have a reolink doorbell. When someone is in front i get a push message with a screenshot. I still get these

Then I suggest you look through the logs when you have physical access to the machine.

The ISP may have changed your external address, things may need to catch up. What are you using for DDNS?
Last time this kind of thing happened to me it wouldn’t come back until I rebooted the router.

My quess is not. I have a domainname forwarding to my ISP IP. Ik can still see the homescreen true my domain

Now even the image fails :stuck_out_tongue:

This screen is not browser cached, is it?

No this is a push from the app and the image is saved in my HA instance until overwritten

It has been solved.
When i arrived home i saw that the NGinX instance was hanging. I’m unsing NPMplus on Proxmox so i have to keep an eye on this.

After restarting it’s working as usual  . Thanks all for helping.
