Universal Remote Control 433ghz - to control blinds

Hi All,

I have one of these Smart Remotes linked up to SmartLife and I use it to control a bunch of devices including my 433ghz electric roller blinds. Whilst I have integrated this via the Tuya app, it isnt ideal as each blind direction appears as its own Scene, rather than as a blind device with controls. Ideally, I would prefer to buy a different device or get this device working with HA natively but cant seem to find any information on what to buy (I figure that getting this device to work natively is fairly unlikely!).

Does anyone have devices like this that are working with HA directly…ideally something available in the UK or most preferably something cheap and cheerful fro AliExpress?

Thanks,

Jon

You can flash yours with tasmota or esphome
I’ve had to replace the module inside with an esp since they mostly come with beken chip nowadays

Thanks for the advice, looking at the chip inside I can see a CBU chip that has a different pin layout. Whilst I have found sites that say that swapping the chip is possible, it is complicated and beyond my soldering capability, plus I don’t have an air solder.

Are there any less hacky options?

Just seen this on Ali Express. this looks like it might work out if the box? Anyone tried it?

Yes, that should work

There’s actually some progress with ir receiver/transmitter with openbeken/libratuya but it didn’t work too well with my testing

I also had one with cbu and esp-c3-c05 is the closest one with matching pinout. I only needed the bottoms pins (with ir rcvr, trnsmitter, led, button) so I was able to swap it.

You don’t really need the full hot air rework station, something like this could still do the job
