I have HA installed on a Raspberry Pi 3b+ and I control two households from it, geographically far apart. The Internet connection to the RPi is fixed over the air with a maximum of 30Mb/s and it is a non-public dynamic IP address. That is why I chose access via NabuCasa Cloud and later added VPN Tailscale as a second way. It doesn’t matter if I am connected via cloud or VPN, I very often get the message “Connection was lost. Reconnecting…”.
When I connected to the NabuCasa account, there was information that it does not have access to the HA instance. I understand the disconnection if I restart HA, but I have no idea why it happens almost every time I make a change and suddenly without any apparent reason.
I searched the Supervisor log, but I couldn’t figure out why the connection is lost. Does anyone have a similar experience and know a possible solution?
RPi3 is widely regarded as too small ram-wise to run HA.
Thanks, it’s possible that the RPi 3b+ is too weak for that. I already have one and I’m planning to replace it with a Home Assistant Green.
