For some of the individual devices I’ve added to the Energy dashboard, there are some that show up with the same name but has “(untracked)” after it. I don’t understand what puts readings/data in that category. I get what untracked is, but don’t get the categorization HA goes through.
Say you had a total kitchen circuit power monitor and in the kitchen a fridge power monitor and a stove power monitor.
Kitchen (untracked) = Kitchen power - stove power - fridge power.
Untracked is the the leftover amount after all the downstream devices have been accounted for.

I see–it should only show up for devices with children devices. I’ve seen them with negative values which also contributed to my confusion.
On another note, it appears the untracked devices don’t show up as individual branches on the Energy flow sankey chart. Is that how it’s supposed to be?
Yes. If you don’t specify the device in the Individual devices setting then it won’t show up.
