noob here. Why are some of my entities showing in Unused Entities. How do i get them back to the home menu?
It’s depends on if you are using a yaml configuration file for your views of if you are configuring the views via the UI.
If you are using yaml files to customize your UI then you just need to add the entity that you want into the particular view you are wanting it to display on (home view based upon your post).
If you are using the UI to modify the view then you would need to go the the three vertical dots in the top right and click. Then select configure ui from the list of items. If you want the entity added to an already existing card you would click edit on that particular card and add the entity. Make sure the card you are using will allow you to do what you are wanting to with the particular entity you are adding. If you want to add a new card for the entity you would need to click the + button in the bottom right.
You can find a video and some documentation on how to configure your UI as well as adding entities to the view here
Well kinda yeah. I see what your talking about but gotta figure out how to do this in the editor
Ok cool. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
Using the UI to organize, I see that you can look at all unused entities in a list with check boxes. I assumed that you can check several items then assign them to a card. But it does not seem to work that way. What am I missing?
They have been reworking the unused entities page recently so I’m not 100% sure that it will allow multi selections to be added. I also personally use yaml files for my configuration. Does it work if you select a single item to add to a page? If not it would be fair to open an issue with home assistant on GitHub. They may not know it’s not working.
No it works with a single selection. Just assumed the way the check marks were there that I could do several at a time.
Thanks
