Updating from 83.2 to 83.3 resulted in all Wink binary sensor entity IDs being changed. The characters “_2” were added to the end of each Wink binary sensor entity ID. That broke the automations.
The release notes for 83.3 list various changes to Wink.
I restored 83.2 and now all is well. Ok for now!
Sorry about that. The release notes should have indicated it was a breaking change. Basically anyone with multi sensors (spotter, wink relay, smoke detectors) weren’t able to use those devices. 0.83.3 fixes that by changing the way Wink entities get unique IDs. Is you haven’t used the UI to change any of the names of any of your devices, the easiest fix is to delete the core.entity_registry from the .storage directory inside your config folder and restart. That will remove all of the old entities so everything gets recreated with the original entity IDs but the new unique IDs. If you don’t want to do that you’ll have to manually edit that file with HA stopped and remove the Wink entities and restart.
Stopped using Wink after recent subscription notices. Moved to ConBee II using ZHA integration and eliminated Zwave devices. ZHA has performed much better for me.
