Update always fails

Hi

How come that the update of either hass-os or home assistant itself always fails? Am i the only one experiencing this.

When i say fails i mean: i start the update at let it run for a couple of hours, hoping that it will be done by then. But every single time the system fails to start again and i have to make a clean install from the bottom :frowning: … it is really annoying.

i have checked my SD card for bad blocks and nothing is wrong with it. I use a raspberry pi 3 b+

again … am i the only one experiencing this issue?

I never had these issues when i was using hassbian.

kind regards

How much free space have you left on your card ? It is the most common reason for update failing : not enough space.

I use a 32GB SD card and have 29GB free space

What error do you get ?

i get a EXT4-fs … python3: iget: checksum invalid ??? it could seem like a SD card issue … but i have checked it for bad blocks and if i do clean install i runs fine. anyways i’m going to try to install it on a different SD card … i just wanted to hear if anybody else was experiencing the same issue.

I know this is an old thread but did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have the same issue but using an SSD. The OS updates always fail, in fact I can’t remember a successful one. I have accepted that I just have to manually update the image, and restore from backup which is a pain.
