Update Athom Plug V3 (UK) firmware?

Hi all,

I’ve got a Athom Plug V3 with Firmware: ESP32C3 (ESPHome 2023.12.5).

In the ESPHome devices in Home assistant (2026.8.3) the device itself shows that information but there is no Update entity/button on that page, the web site it hosts has an OTA update button but no indication on whether there are ways to get update.

I couldn’t find anything on the athom.tech web site for OTA files - or am I supposed to use the ESPHome Device builder to take control of this device?

Is it recommended to keep these up to date or do I just leave it as is?

If your plug works like desired, just leave it as is.
Athom-tech has updated yaml for your device on github, but if yours is running 3years old firmware, there are likely major changes that might even ask flashing via serial.
