I’m relatively new to both HA and ESPHome. To learn how things work I have a dedicated test device (Eh-Test) with which I mess around.
The ESPhome part (yaml) is no problem. But when I have a look at the entity in HA, all previously used controls/sensors are still there. I can disable them but it still confuses me. Se for example the following screen shot:
How can I make the grey (disabled) controls and sensors (not shown) completely disappear?
They are non-existent. Reloading the device in “Settings->Integrations->ESPHome” did not help. And so far, I have not found anything which removed them. Not in any of the three-dots-menus or in the documentation (perhaps I was looking in the wrong places).
Just delete the device from the ESPHome integration: settings->integrations->ESPHome and then in the three dots menu after the device the option delete. And after deleting add the device again.
That’s strange. You can also go to settings->integrations->ESPHome->device and then click on the blue “entities” by this device. Select a entity which is no longer available, select the cogwheel and then select the red “DELETE” text at the bottom, to delete that entity.
But then I restarted HA. And that made things disappear. Perhaps it was the restart in combination with clearing the browser’s cache because I had restarted HA before several times during the previous days.
Now I know what to do whenever it gets too confusing. Thanks for your help @jsuanet , anyway!
