Update to HA OS 6.2 makes a brick?

I have just attempted to upgrade HA OS from 6.1 to 6.2. Pressed and… nothing. Plugin monitor (HDMI1 or HDMI2) black screen. The green LED blinks a few times after power up and that it. I tried to boot from my last (pre-update) HA on SD card seems working. But no sign of live while booting updated HA on USB…
I did not do any backup before upgrade today… Is there only way to restore everything from one week old backup?

RPi4b, USB SSD M.2, latest HA

Tried a fresh OS 6.2 (32bit) installation - same result - no boot/black screen
tried a fresh OS 6.1 (32bit) installation - fine! then update to 6.2 from console - no boot /black screen;
tried a fresh OS 6.2 (64bit) installation - it started fine but did not restore all add-ons…
So, 6.2 does NOT let RPi4 to boot (at least from USB3)… keep away!

Same here with upgrade from 6.0 to 6.2 64bit

I have been trying a fresh build using ver 6.2. I can access cli, but otherwise just sits on the preparing screen.

@kol are you saying 6.1 32bit works from a fresh flash?

Cheers

@kaliym, Well, if you stay on 6.1 it works of course. I am on 6.1 now as well. I open a ticket on github Update 6.1 - 6.2 makes RPi4B unbootable · Issue #1490 · home-assistant/operating-system · GitHub you can find more details but no resolution yet.

@kol, ill follow that ticket

I dont have a direct solution. But i went to a mates place and plugged my RPi in and it ran everything smoothly. Brought it home and it works. but there is clearly and underlying issue somewhere here.

@kaliym, not sure I get… You say you got the same issue with booting RPi after OS 6.2 upgrade and then somehow the RPi has been successfully upgraded to 6.2?

Hi,
Is there any way of fixing this without re-flashing the whole sd card? I updated today and my pi4 does not boot anymore. I don’t have a Linux machine. And had backups only on the sd card that was running the hassio

the issue has been fixed in OS version 6.3. Check the release notes https://github.com/home-assistant/operating-system/releases/tag/6.3
At least to me it works fine!
