I currently have an HA Yellow with a 500GB nvme disk for data (and a CM5). I am using Frigate and want to increase the retention, but have limited disk space. Therefore I need to increase the nvme to a 1TB.
What is the recommended process to do this? Is there a way to retain existing footage? If I merely remove & replace the nvme, will HA be upset since the old drive (UUID) is gone?
As I mentioned in my first post, if the UUID changes (different HW can lead to new UUID, right?), will HA be OK with that? If so, I can use dd, clonezilla, anything. And I assume I can just expand the partition after cloning.
I don’t think many have tried already. But you can try, if the new 1Tb is not found correct, you can replace it again with the old 500Gb until you find a better process.
And if it works, let us know so we can advise others with the same question.
First attempt (just swapping the 512GB with the 2TB): Fail. Just a solid green light on my HA Yellow. I did not have a nvme to usb adapter to clone the drive. I will try that next. Hopefully from a Linux terminal I can also extend the partition.
