Upgrading and Installing on new Pi5 - just get stuck on "Cannot get network information"

I have been running my existing HA for many years but with the recent deprecation of the older Pi’s I decided it was time to upgrade to a Pi5.
I went through the install documentation, created an image onto a SD card, and booted up the new hardware. The install sequence opens up in the browser, and I can see the unit in my router. After a few minutes the message “cannot get network information” appears, and I never get beyond it. I tried reloading the SD card (even tried two different ones as the first one -it was a new one - now is not even recognized in a drive on my mac), restarted the Pi several times, but always the same outcome. The lights on the ethernet port are either constant on, or not at all. never any flickering. After some time, they go out, the unit disappears from the router, and obviously trying to ping the address results in no response.
I was able to copy the log into a txt file which I am not sure how to best attach. I appreciate all assistance. Not a complete newbie, but also not an expert. just enough to be a danger to myself.

Well, after reading up on a lot of other similar issues, I turned to the power supply. I had used one that clearly said it provided the required levels, but why not eliminate the chance. So I got a USB-C power supply with up to 100W and restarted. Ofcourse, it all worked. very frustrating. Now if I could actually get my original SD card back to working, as it was a much more capable one, that would be a bonus.
