URC4460BC0-X-R by Universal Electronics Inc Goes Offline

I have several URC4460BC0-X-R contact sensors that pair fine to my ZBT-2 controller, but then go offline after around 5 hours and require the battery be pulled and put back in to get to them to communicate again. I am migrating from openhab and they had no issues on that platform for years with 7 of these sensors.

Any info that I can provide to diagnose this? They always have the last message be “Zha Event was fired” before they go offline.

Could be one or more of several Zigbee issues with your Mesh.

Only this device model has this issue. I have other old smart things contact sensors, light bulbs, and temperature sensors, and none of them have any issues.

Also, both contact sensors are with 10ft of the main controller so it shouldn’t be a mesh issue.

Was thinking that this might be a config issue for this device.

I have a few of these in my network and they have done well. The most recent 2026.2.1 broke the battery sensor for me, but I am wondering if that is because I have had it running with a custom quirk since I sent it up.

I have found the breaking of the battery sensor actually makes the paring work correctly. I paired some more of these after 2026.2.1, and they work correctly, but the ones I paired before that version do not work, and only go to sleep and never wake up again.
