Hello everyone! I’m tired of social media sludge on YouTube and Reddit so I figured I’d come here and hopefully get some better info. I’m located in the United States and I want to purchase a mini split for my older home. I’m going to do it myself, I’ve done electricial and HVAC work on my home, I just don’t know anything about the brands available on the US market. I have 1300sqft so I’m looking for a 24k - 36k unit. Which brands in the US are worth looking at, or staying away from? The most important things for me is serviceability and local control. I’m tired of signing my life away to turn on a lightbulb or flush a toilet.
Take a look at EG4. They are meant for DIY. You can find them at Signature Solar. They have 12, 24, and 36K units that can be line powered or run by solar panels. They have very good reviews.
