Use of Helpers in Automations using UI

Hallo. I bought the Green Box a few weeks ago and when doing automations I could use Helpers whilst working in the UI, now after an update the function disappeared. Can it be somehow reinstated by changing settings, or something. I looked everywhere, I reinstalled the instance, obviously I didn’t have any luck. I would love to use the UI as I’m not 100% familiar with the syntax.
Thanks.

Can you please take a screenshot of the area you are talking about?

Before I used to have a button there which allowed me to insert a helper instead of a fixed value.

That area has never allowed the input of a sensor or helper. You’re remembering incorrectly. Triggers typically do not accept entities (or helpers) as a value for input.

You will need to use the trigger numeric state
That type will allow the use of other entities in above and below

That’s the old UI where it was possible.

That’s a time trigger, not a numeric state trigger. They are not the same. You cannot add a helper to a numeric state trigger’s above or below value.

You’re actually using a device trigger, which doesn’t support any entities.

There are very few triggers that support an entity_id. Time triggers at: field does. Most do not.

I sort of doubt it, the helpers are not listed between the entities on offer.

He is correct, it does work and is in the UI

Yeah, you have a different UI mate. Where do I get the black one? I have a white one!

That is weird, when i create a test automation with numeric state i can pick any of the numeric helpers i have already in my system. Which helpers are you trying to use.

Thats just the UI theme:

Had to turn it off fast cuz i burned out my eyes

Yeah, I think I figured it out now. Thanks for the tip. I had the helpers named differently than I thought I did, that’s why I couldn’t find them…
Sorry about the confution. P.

Thanks again.
