I've tried downloading Alexa Media Player and tried to register with Amazon without success. Is there any integration that I can setup up for doorbell announcements? At a loss to be honest.
My first suggestion would be to remove Alexa Media Player and install the core Alexa Devices integration. But, if you are having problems registering AMP, you may have similar problems with AD. If the suggestions from the Troubleshooting section of the docs don't solve the problem, come back and we can go from there.

Managed to install the integration but all but one of my echo devices have exclamation marks next to them. I did try to install Alexa Media Player, could that be the problem and how's do I uninstall it.
Go to the Integrations dashboard, click on Alexa Media Player. In the page that open, the top item should have your Amazon account or email showing, click the 3-dot menu on the right and select "Delete".
If you installed it using HACS, you can then open HACS and remove it from there as well. If you loaded the files manually you will need to manually delete them from your custom_components file. It's not absolutely necessary, but I would then restart HA.
Managed that but now trying to integrate Tapo D231 video doorbell in ha to make announcements through Alexa or Google nest with no joy. Any advice appreciated
I don't have any experience with that device, so you will need to share what entities it contains for anyone to even start to help. I would start by going to the Entities list dashboard and use the Filter button on the top left to filter by the device and/or integration.
Managed it in the end. Just needed to expose a script to Alexa. Thanks for your input.
