Using HA to send RF signals

I have a couple of devices with those cheap RF controllers (with currently unknown frequency), that I would like to control with Home Assistant. I’m now looking into if this is possible and what hardware I need.

I found some info about RF Link, but rather have a ready to go USB device to plug into my HAOS box not depending on rPi or Arduino.

  • How can I scan the frequency of the remotes I have and determine if I can emulate them from HA?
  • What kind of device other than RFLink can I use… On ali I found this cheap C1101 based USB stick. Can this be used with HA to achieve this?

Hopefully someone can shed some light on the possibilities.

All RF devices should have the frequency printed on or a number for an administrative office where the data can be looked up, like an FCC number.
