I just started with HA and looked at the Music Assistant Addon and the Youtube Music instructions. I followed the instructions, found that I needed the beta to work. Got that working and was thrilled with it last night. Woke up this morning to both Youtube Music and Youtube not working in my account on any platform. I had a chat with YouTube support and they said my account had been suspended due to suspicious activity. It’ll reset itself in “A few weeks”. Anyway, not much I can do about it. Just my experience.
Did this finally get reversed? I saw a warning on music assistant now for the amount of calls to the api. I’m using the other YouTube Music integration with a card as well. Haven’t had anything happen yet but its only been a couple days and haven’t been playing too much music. Will know after I run an automation for the daughter tonight.
This happened to me a couple days ago. I can’t play any YouTube videos or listen to anything on YouTube Music now. It’s an account-level issue, not hardware/network/cookies/extensions/DNS/etc. I’ve contacted Google support twice and they’ve not helped.
One thing that’s important in my regard is that my liked music has more than 3000 songs in it, and I pressed play on that playlist. I suspect it tried getting information about every single song in the playlist rather than just a small window of them.
I removed both Music Assistant and the token helper add-on as well in case they were actively still doing things even though I hadn’t touched it in days. No change to my situation, and it’s been a couple days since I did that.
Not going to lie, this really screwed up how I run my day since now I can’t listen to music while I work (not even via YouTube Music on my phone) nor watch even TV or movies I’ve purchased on YouTube nor just regular ol’ YouTube videos.
BTW I was on my third support chat just now and even though they said they need time to figure it out with an engineer on their end, about 5 minutes after I closed support chat, my YouTube and YouTube Music started working again. It’s as if they do know how to fix it. They wouldn’t even try until I made it clear I wasn’t going to leave until we figured it out. If you face this issue, you have to be persistent too. Their support people do have ways to fix it, they just aren’t willing to without being forced.
