Using pre-existing zigbee installation for a home entertainment system

We are planning to move some furniture around and realized the wall where the TV usually is will not be possible to mount. So the idea is to set up a projector with an electric retractable screen on the ceiling. The issue is with the wiring as I have 1 cable running up the ceiling for the light fixture and want to re-use that for both the light and the projector.

Currently, it looks like this. Simple button light switch and a light fixture.

This is EU so we are talking about a 240v and a 10amp breaker at the mains. My idea is to extend the existing wire in the ceiling and wire it additionally to a projector that will be ceiling mounted as well.

I would replace the light switch with a 2-button zigbee light switch.

Add two zigbee 10amp switches:1 for the light fixture1 for the projector

Then using zigbee2mqtt integrate them and for example use 1 button to turn on the light and the other to provide power to the projector.

Using home assistant I could then for example use the ZigBee IR blaster to turn on the projector when the light switch turns the power on. Additionally, this coud also extend the project screen with the remote feature as well.

The same would be for switching off. Use the IR blaster to turn off the projector and roll up the screen then turn off power via the Zigbee switch.

The automation doesn’t seem difficult my main problem here is if I have the wiring correct in my head to achieve this. Or if there are better ways of going about this? The diagram below is what I am thinking of to accomplish this. The reason for having the Zigbee switches is to still have physical control via the wall button switch and that they are small enough that I wouldn’t need to cut big holes in the drywall to hide them.

My main problem is if I have the wiring correct and if this is a good way to go about this. Or perhaps there are better ways to achieve this? I would appreciate any help or suggestions.

I’m sure from your first picture and your plan, is there a neutral wire pulled to your wall switch? If not are you planning adding this? Your second picture shows a neutral line at the wall switch. You might be able to accomplish your goal, regardless of whether you pull a neutral wire to your wall switch, however from my experience you have more options when you have a neutral wire properly pulled to all locations where you want to replace ‘dumb’ mains devices with ‘smart’ mains devices.

Good hunting!
