Using Shelly in automations

I’m using a Shelly plug in an automation and it triggers like I want it to.

But I can’t figure out how to set the shelly device itself for continuous on/off when triggered (example 1h on/1h off).

There has to be something in actions I can do this with?.. Instead of doing this 50/50 duty cycle in the Shelly app :thinking:

I think there are many ways:

TRIGGER:
When Shelly Switch from on to off

ACTION
WAIT 60 min (or 1 hour)
SWITCH TURN ON
WAIT 60 min (or 1 hour)
SWITCH TURN OFF

That would be my way.

Do not wait for long times in automations. They can be easily interrupted leading to unpredictable behaviour.

Instead use a for: time in the trigger. e.g.

trigger: state
entity_id: switch.foobar
to: 'on'
for:
  minutes: 60
