I was wondering if it was possible to use the ultra wideband radio from iPhones or e.g. the Google Pixel 6 Pro for human presence detection. Everything I found on this (room-assistant etc.) is BLE oder WiFi based.

Have you made any progress on this? I have been looking into getting some of the Quorvo transceivers and playing around with them for some robotics projects. I am relatively new to home assistant and was thinking I could potentially find a way to use the anchors that I would set up to find which room my partner or I am in and do more person-specific automation.

Also interested in detecting position of smartphone in front or behind a door and thought about using UWB which is offered by my Smartphone. But don’t really find devices or even smart home integrations which would make implementation easy.
Did you manage to get anywhere with that? UWB should be perfect for this.
