Recently installed the Vanderbilt SPC Alarm, after installation, noticed that once I set the alarm there is no delay option exit or entry times.
The alarm sets immediately meaning an attempt to vacate or enter the premises sets off the alarm immediately.
Speaking to the Lundix software developer, he says the Vanderbilt system doesn’t allow this and would have to be simulated by the Home Assistant community.
Any assistance would be great.
Did you read the documentation that comes with SPC integration ? it clearly indicates it’s part of your job to do on HA side once integration has been setup ! In same way, there is no pin code for commands sent from HA which is a huge security problem !
Hi, thanks for your response.
Yes I have read the SPC integration document however I’ve not seen any references to being able to make those sort of core changes to the integration.
I’m a newb, I have no experience coding and wouldn’t even know where to begin to make minor changes to this integration.
I’ve accepted I’ll never be able to use the pin code on the alarm integration, however if you know any other means to do so please let me know.
But it would be nice to be able to set a delayed timer to the panel, that way I can use my alarm panel on my tablet when arming/disarming the alarm. again if you know how to do so, please do let me know.
Hi @vincen,
I have another issue, just wanted to get your thoughts.
I have the vanderbilt alarm system integrated and used as an alarm entity on my lovelace dashboard.
However when I arm the system, there is no delay timer, which causes the PIR sensor to trigger an intrusion alert.
Is there a way to add a delay timer after activating the alarm?
Hi @efamose
Unhappy I won’t be able to help you about that as I don’t use the integration for reasons previously explained. Have you tried to create an automation or script to send the arm command at SPC system with a delay ? it should do the trick quite easily
