Very unstable HAOS installation I combination with Z2M

Hi,
I had a HAOS installation on a Pi4 and it was very buggy. multiple times per week I needed to unplug the pi to restart it. I used the Skyconnect and zha integration for zigbee. I read that a pi can be very buggy. So I bought a NUC15CRK with 16 gig ram and 2 internal nvme disks and 3 sonoff 3.0 zigged plus. I installed proxmox and run HAOS in a virtual machine. I run the Zigbee2mqtt, mosquitto in a container. I also run mariaDB on the second nvme disk in a container as database. After fresh install it runs perfectly. this is for a couple of days and than it is even more buggy than the pi4 installation. The 3 sonoff 3.0 zigbee plus dongles run as coordinator and 2 as router. also have 6 power plugs in the mesh that function as router. in z2m the mesh looks healthy, LQI for all sensors, switches, motion sensor and routers is 80+. somehow after some time the switches or contact sensor do not work anymore. restarting, restoring a backup for the containers is not working. A new install is the only way to get it working again. I really hope someone has a fix, because this is very frustrating.

I have been running HA for 9 years. I started out supervised, and migrated to HAOS 5 years ago. My equipment is old Intel stuff over 10 years old with an SSD and whatever memory fits. I currently have 2 homes each running a copy and a dev server running a VM because it’s to old to have UEFI.
Sonoff Dongle E and Z2M on one, Sonoff Dongle E with Z2M, an old Sonoff-ethernet Zigbee running ZHA, Zwave, and Thread on the other. (A few stray Tuya devices and Tasmota everywhere.) Over 100 IOT devices total.

I literally have never had the problems you are having.

(And re-installing because some of the zigbee stuff wasn’t meshing correctly may not have been the way I went there. LQI has nothing to do with the mesh that I know of.)

Hi thanks for you reply. any suggestions to get it working. I do not want to restart the entire installation again

For Zigbee, have you seen the help library some of the community has pulled together? Lots of reading but things are covered pretty well. The Home Assistant Cookbook - Index

Hi

I browsed through it and bought 3 new usb 2.0 extension cables since I read good cables are essential. After reboot of proxmox everything worked again. and also much faster response after clicking a button. probably the old cables caused the issues.

Thanks
