So I’ve got super into my vibe coding and decided to build some cards for my dashboard. On the whole, I think they have a basis on good ideas, but I feel my dashboard is getting less and less clean due to (slightly) varying styles / themes, when compared to something that is purely built with cards of the same type that are un-modded.
My custom cards are:
- a custom pollen card that uses the Kleenex integration to get it’s data. FYI - this bar neatly collapses to just a small icon/text after 5 seconds.
- a notification ticker that scrolls through persistent notifications. each notification can be clicked which opens a popup to dismiss the notification.
- a pill button that can be configured to show/hide any section of the dashboard when clicked This install a companion invisible ‘anchor’ card that you add to any section(the Rooms botton on my dashboard image).
On the whole I like the new functionality that I’m adding to the dashboard, but I think it’s at the cost of the overall look. I’m sure I’ll get the design working again, but it is quite the challenge when pandoras box is open allowing you to broadly build anything you want!
