my Viessmann heating system is configured to also heat the water through a Vitodens 300. It is connected to a W 100 hot water storage tank with a capacity of 300 liters, which was originally also supplied by solar thermal energy. I now have a PV (photovoltaic) system on the roof and would like to use the surplus electrical energy to heat water via a heating element. The PV system is also controlled through Home Assistant (HA).
I would now like to deactivate the water heating when the boiler is being electrically charged. In the HA integration, I have not found a direct way to disable the water heating. The idea is to reduce the target temperature for the hot water to 20 degrees so that the boiler is not charged via gas.
Is there a more elegant solution, or is this even possible? Who has experience with this, and how have you solved it?
