Can someone help me? Thanks a lot
Hello,
As far as I know zogbee might be the only way.
There is a second way and it is Home Kit Device integration and a vimar gateway.
I managed to build a custom Vimar Tab5s integration. Claude Code did the entire reverse engineering and can authenticate and connect to Vimar cloud. Works beautifully.
Not sure how the code can be adapted to a different setup, but if anyone wants to pick up the code and make it better, you are all welcome
great work! I was just about thinking to give Claude code a try in developing this because I couldn't find anything to integrate my tab5s! I'll give it a try soon!
Just two questions checking the code, I see you (well, Claude) stated that it's "local only" but I believe this addon needs vimar cloud to login at least, so perhaps this bit is not 100% accurate. I also see pointers to apple push notifications endpoints that I can't understand why are there?
Anyways it's a great and welcome job, thanks a lot for putting it out!
Thanks! docs definitely need to be updated. The feature that needs to be implemented is the QR code login. The way I did it was by having Claude extracting the login from the QR code on screen and register the integration as a device in the cloud. The apple notifications are there because I was testing Apple's CallKit and see if I could treat the doorbell as a native video call. I put the project on hold for the moment, but I will update it with an easier configuration method. Happy to know also your thoughts.
Just for clarity: you mention that the app makes a local connection using SIP. Does this work with the latest firmware (2.1.303, from 2025)? Because when using it with the official VIEW app, it seems like it will always connect using the cloud (turning off Internet briefly breaks the app), unlike the old Video Door IP app which worked perfectly fine locally.
Just wanted to share something that might help here. I put together a custom HA integration for the Vimar Elvox Tab 7S WiFi intercom (40507). It handles doorbell events, answer/hangup, door opening and audio streaming ā all from within Home Assistant.
The Tab 5S WiFi (40515) hasnāt been officially confirmed yet, but the protocol is the same family, so worth a try.

Hi all,
Iāve published Vimar Intercom, a custom integration for Vimar / Elvox video door entry systems that normally work with the Vimar View app. It was developed on an Elvox Tab 5S Plus indoor unit on a 2-wire plant. Home Assistant registers as one more mobile device, so the indoor unit and the official app keep working alongside it.
Features
Setup from the QR code the indoor unit shows under Settings ā Network and devices ā Mobile device pairing. Upload a photo or screenshot, or paste the scanned text. There are no IPs, SIP accounts or extensions to type, and Home Assistant finds the indoor unit on your network by itself.
Automatic configuration. Entrance panels, doors and other actuators (stair lights, AUX relays) are read from the plantās phonebook, with the names your installer set. When the plant changes, the integration updates itself.
Live video and audio from the entrance panels, on a ring or on demand, with camera switching during a call where the plant supports it.
Talk-back: hold the Talk button in the dashboard card and speak to the person at the door. This needs HTTPS for microphone access.
Doorbell and missed-call events, a āringingā sensor, answer / decline / hang up, and door locks.
Do Not Disturb and answering machine switches, synced with the indoor unit, plus the voicemail timeout.
Video messages: an unread count, the list of messages, and actions to play, mark read and delete.
A dashboard card, loaded automatically. It has live video with a panel selector, a ringing banner with Answer / Decline, door buttons that ask for a confirmation tap, actuators, DND / voicemail toggles, missed calls and video messages.
Diagnostics download, with secrets redacted.
Install
HACS ā ā® ā Custom repositories ā GitHub - noiseheroes-lab/ha-vimar-intercom: Home Assistant integration for Vimar / Elvox video intercoms (Tab 5S, Video Door IP): live video, doorbell, door release, auto-configuration from the plant Ā· GitHub (category: Integration) ā install Vimar Intercom ā restart Home Assistant.
On the indoor unit, open Mobile device pairing to show the QR code.
Settings ā Devices & services ā Add integration ā Vimar Intercom, then upload or paste the QR.
Good to know
Tested on one plant type (2-wire V2 with the Vimar cloud). Other plant types should work or fall back to a manual panel list. Reports are very welcome, especially from IP / 2-wire V1 plants and other indoor units.
One Vimar system per Home Assistant installation.
It uses the same cloud protocol as the official app, with the credentials your own indoor unit generates.
Not affiliated with Vimar.
Hi @mrbrown82 and everyone,
Great work! For anyone looking to integrate Vimar intercoms into Home Assistant, you might also want to try the version Iām building with lollox80: https://github.com/lollox80/ha-vimar-intercom
Itās working well in our tests on several different intercom units, and it already adds a few things:
- photo and audio clip for every ring, with history
- Scrypted stream (Alexa and HomeKit) and Alexa webhooks
- audio during the ring, talk button and popup
- authorized users, absence message and a 20 s āView outsideā
mrbrown82, your version has some great features weāre still missing, like QR pairing, phonebook auto-config, DND and answering machine switches, video messages, missed calls and the decline button. Why not join us, so we can put everything together in one project? Weād really appreciate your help with development and testing!
Hi everyone,
I had converted my Vimar 14592.0 connected switch to Zigbee, but I had to reset it. Now I canāt convert it again. The LED flashes blue, but the Vimar View Wireless app doesnāt detect the device.
What Iāve tried so far:
- Cutting power and restoring it
- Holding the button for about 30 seconds until the LED changes
- Following all the procedures in the manual
Before the reset, the switch was paired to my Home Assistant instance, and I havenāt changed anything in my Zigbee setup (same coordinator, same channel).
Has anyone run into this? Is there a way to get the app to see the switch again, or another way to bring it back into Bluetooth mode so I can redo the Zigbee conversion?
Any help is appreciated. I can provide more details (firmware version, phone model, Home Assistant integration) if needed.
Thanks!
Hi Luca, thank you for your answer on #2 and for pointing your README to us. Thatās very generous.
As promised, the migration notes are here:
ha-vimar-intercom/docs/MIGRATION.md at d9a9b4a568b4ac9189259000ba04bc0ec0a1bbdf Ā· ha-vimar/ha-vimar-intercom Ā· GitHub (Italian: MIGRATION.it.md)
Short version for anyone reading: the two integrations share the vimar_intercom domain and canāt coexist, and the config entry doesnāt carry over, so the path is: delete the old entry while the old code is still installed, remove it from HACS, restart, install ha-vimar/ha-vimar-intercom, add it again with the same QR (as text) and fetch the phonebook.
Since your repository is archived, linking the page from its README would need a quick unarchive and re-archive; only if and when you have a minute. Weāll keep crediting your work where we port ideas from it.
Thanks again,
Lorenzo
