Virtual Parallel — Synchronize switches and lights as one circuit

Virtual Parallel

Hi everyone!

I’ve created a small Home Assistant custom integration called Virtual Parallel.

The idea is simple: sometimes you have multiple switches and lights that you want to behave as if they were connected in parallel.

Virtual Parallel allows you to select multiple switch and/or light entities and synchronize their state automatically.

What it does

  • Synchronizes multiple switch entities
  • Synchronizes multiple light entities
  • Allows switch and light entities in the same circuit
  • Bidirectional synchronization
  • Configured entirely from the Home Assistant UI
  • No YAML configuration required
  • Ignores unavailable and unknown entities
  • Available through HACS

Example

You could have:

  • switch.kitchen_main
  • switch.kitchen_counter
  • light.kitchen_led_strip

Put them in the same Virtual Parallel circuit.

If one turns ON, the others turn ON.

If one turns OFF, the others turn OFF.

The synchronization works in both directions.

Why I created it

I originally created Virtual Parallel for my own Home Assistant installation, where I wanted different types of devices to behave like a single circuit.

The latest version also allows switch and light entities to be mixed in the same circuit.

Installation

Virtual Parallel is available through HACS.

Current version: v0.0.4

Feedback

This is a new project, so feedback and testing are very welcome.

If you try it with different switches, lights, or integrations, let me know how it behaves in your setup.

Thanks!
