Voice Alert Summary - Read active alerts via voice using local TTS or AI-generated summaries

About

After setting up my Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition to light up when alerts trigger (see related blueprints below), I wanted to take it a step further: ask Assist to “read my alerts please” and have it vocalize all active alerts. This blueprint does exactly that by detecting active labeled alert automations and reading them aloud. Please enjoy and feedback is always welcome!

Requirements

  • Home Assistant Minimum Version: 2025.7.0
  • Optional: A Conversation Agent that supports AI Tasks if enabling AI
  • Recommend: Use with my Alert blueprint (referenced below)

Features

  • Smart Alert Detection: Reads out active alerts from running automations with a specified label
  • Flexible Voice Options: Choose between local TTS or AI-generated summaries
  • Customizable Output: Configure how summaries are generated to suit your needs

How it Works

When the Voice Alert Summary automation runs it checks all the automations with a specified label and then reads out any automations that are currently running. This works well with my Alert blueprint (referenced below) as it runs in a loop so long as the alert is active.
