Voice Assistant Echo Edition (unofficial!) - PE takes over the Echo

The Voice Assistant PE is a wonderful device but is so lacking in the sound quality area. Amazon Echo Dot's however have a well designed speaker chamber and have reasonably good sound. In the quest to de-cloud the home, we have merged the PE hardware and software with the Echo speaker technology and now have the best of both worlds. Here it is:

All the functionality of the Voice Assistant PE with some reasonably good sound as well.

If you want to see how to do it and download the 3D print files, head over to [Voice Assistant EE]

Love the idea to reuse the echo dot 3 speaker.
How does it sound compared to a normal echo dot?

I had the feeling in the past, that the voice pe tends to distortion or clipping when you set the volume higher.
Even with the audio out.

Is the speaker of the echo dot connected that way loud enough with a good audio quality?

Ok, just checked that out.

I haven't printed a new housing so far,
just disassembled the original circuit boards and connected the VPE to it.

Sound is loud and clear, a more than welcome upgrade over the default speaker when you use it in a larger living room (I'm not using the VPE for music, but the default speaker is also way to weak for voice if your room isn't that small).

Thanks a lot for this idea. :slightly_smiling_face::+1:
