Voice Assistant PE Question

I am using the 3.5mm jack for a 2.1 system in my living room. My TV speakers are not great. I saw that you can pair Bluetooth speakers with the Google TV 4k Chromecast. I started wondering if I could use my Voice PE to receive the audio.

Is there a way I can get the voice pe to pair to the chromecast?

the speaker is really basic on the voice PE so i doubt you want TV audio coming out of it - Isn’t the question more how can you control the Chromecast with Voice PE via home assistant once you have paired the BT speakers with the chromecast - How to Use Your Bluetooth Speakers With Chromecast – Ear Rockers

i’m new to home assistant so forgive if i haven’t understood your usage case…

I am using the audio jack on the voice pe for my 2.1 speaker system which would be much better than my TV speakers.

I want the audio from my Chromecast to go to my voice pe so it will play on a proper speaker system.

Just to clarify, you want the TV sound (from chromecast) to be sent to the voice PE so that it can then be piped to your speaker system?

Yes, that is exactly what I’m looking for, if possible. Thank you for helping me clarify

I figured as much. If that’s what you intend to achieve, you’ll be severely disappointed. Firstly, because HA (PE or otherwise) does not support streaming bluetooth audio (afaik). Secondly, because even if it did, the latency would be horrible.

It’s not all bad news though:
Your best bet would be to get a 3.5mm jack splitter and a 3.5mm bluetooth adapter for your soundbar. You would then be able to use the soundbar as an output for both the voice PE (hardwired) as well as for the chromecast (via bluetooth). Both items are pretty cheap on ebay/ali/amazon, so it’s no great loss if it doesn’t work out.

Let me know if you need help on how to hook them up, but it should be pretty straightforward.
