Dear community,
the last beta update made the voice assistant PE too sensitive. Just in a single day, it triggered about 5 times without being asked. It was completely random – sometimes from television, sometime my or my wife’s voice. Also, while its speaking, its very difficult to tell him “STOP”.
Did someone experience this too?
The last FW update introduced a new wake-word sensitivity settting – I will try a lower sensitivity setting now, see Release 25.5.0 · esphome/home-assistant-voice-pe · GitHub
Firmware: 25.5.0
ESPHome 2025.5.0
Wake Word sensitivity: Moderately sensitive
Wake Word: Okay Nabu
Cheers!
I’ve just rechecked the PR notes and it really seems, that my Okay Nabu wake-word has become much more sensitive: Add wake word sensitivity selector by kahrendt · Pull Request #403 · esphome/home-assistant-voice-pe · GitHub
@KevinA Maybe this is something you should add more prominent into the firmware release notes
Created an issue for voice PE ignoring my STOP commands
opened 08:39PM - 26 May 25 UTC
The Stop command is rarely accepted by my voice PE.
I am not sure if this is si… nce the voice-pe beta firmware 25.5.0 or even one version before it.
**Test Steps**
say Okay Nabu
then try to say: Stop
Expected: Stop is accepted.
Observed: continues to listen and tries to process command through OpenAI, e.g. "why are you angry"
**Configuration**
Firmware: 25.5.0
ESPHome 2025.5.0
Wake Word sensitivity: Moderately sensitive
Wake Word: Okay Nabu
Home Assistant Supervisor
