Heya everyone! So I am not even sure this is possible, or maybe it is and it’s really simple - I dunno. I am very much a HA Newbie. I know slightly more than nothing about how to use HA - but I am learning more every day.
I have Home Assistant Voice Preview Edition, and I love it! I have created (and am constantly tweaking) my assistants personality, and I particularly love how he interjects things here and there, based on the profile I have set up.
My home is mainly Apple based - but I have about 6 Google mini speakers setup from my old Android days. I know I can send a TTS message to them - I even have a couple automations that do just that. But what I would really like to have is for my assistant (Jarvis) to say something through a Google speaker. I know it’s not possible to respond to him through a Google speaker (is it?), but can he at least say something through a Google speaker? Like by using the conversation starter?
I plugged my Nest Mini into Home Assistant via Google Cast integration… it’s seen as a “Media Player.” You can then create automations with the TSS “Say” action.
You can also have the AI speak via your Google Cast (via the "AI Generate Content) Of course, it won’t be able to hear you if it asks you other questions… I also use an Apple HomePod mini which I use for some HomeAssistant notifications via the AI.
