My PE stopped working and after startup it only reports a fatal error (4 red LEDs in a cross). It is still connected to Wi-Fi and HA can see it, but it does not respond to voice. When I manually flash version 25.5.2 via computer serial port, it boots up, lights and responds normally, I can find it in the app, pair it, etc. But during that process it updates to 25.6.0 and then it’s dead again. Does anyone know what’s causing this and whether it can be fixed without a warranty claim?
The warranty claim was accepted, I am waiting for a new unit to be restocked and shipped… the cause and solution are still unknown…
i’ve had this happen to two of my previews. i have been debugging the same and no luck.
I had this happen to one of mine after a power outage. It was on a UPS, but after the power came back on I got the red ring of death. Seeed sent me a replacement, but I never was able to get the original unit operational again. Pretty bizarre honestly. I’m curious what suddenly failed in the device.
