I have two Home Assistant VPE devices, one in the living room and one in the bedroom. They’ve been underused lately, but when I came to use them today I’m stuck with two problems.
The living room VPE has no audio coming out of it irrespective of the volume level. I had previously hooked this up to a small speaker via the 3.5mm, but with it plugged in or unplugged to use the internal speaker, I get no audio. The unit responds to “Okay Nabu”, carries out requests to turn things on/off, but there’s no audio chime, there’s no audio in the response, just silence with the spinning blue lights while it’s doing something. I didn’t get the “you can now safely release the button to reset the device” message when I reset the device, just silence.
The bedroom device has stopped responding and just has the spinning blue lights all of the time. It doesn’t respond to any wake words and doesn’t stop spinning. It does give me the audio cue about resetting the device unlike the other device.
I’ve reset both devices multiple times, installed again from scratch, but the behavior on both persists. ESPHome Builder sees the devices as being online, is able to install configurations, but out of luck in terms of getting them back to fully working where they were previously.
Any ideas on troubleshooting either of these problems would be appreciated!
